-Yaafnev/dj enjoys cookies, so long as they do not involve raisins. Anything with peanut butter and/or chocolate will do.

-He enjoys milk with the afore-mentioned cookies. Cold, cold milk.

-While we are on the subject of food, yaafnev/dj’s all time favorite dinner could very well be chicken fried steak with gravy and mashed potatoes. When he was little this meal made him (not surprisingly) pudgy and he was poked fun of by his peers. Currently, he still harbors a great love for the cfs, but only indulges once a year or so. He does this with a heavy heart/childlike enthusiasm.

-Yaafnev/dj wonders how the Counting Crows made a perfect first record, and never even came close to doing it again after that. Seriously, why did things go that way?

-Yaafnev/dj has a wild rabbit that lives in his backyard. She isn’t what you would call a pet, but her name is Claire. A wild teenage rabbit recently showed up, and her name is Little Claire. Yaafnev/dj will stand around for really long chunks of time watching these two bunnies eat grass. This activity is accentuated by a nice cup of coffee. (Note – since this was first written, three baby bunnies [Baby Claires 1-3] have appeared. Best guess is that they live in the bushes under the dining room window. Your author and Mark W. agreed while walking in the airport one afternoon that there are few things in this world cuter than baby bunnies.)

-A partial list of favorite authors - (“David edition”) David Foster Wallace, Dave Eggers, David Sedaris. (“Non-David edition” consists of Jonathan Safran Foer, Chuck Klosterman, Andrew Beaujon, and some others that he can’t think of right now. For more click on the “Now Reading” section.)

-Some current musical obsessions – (Note – it is very likely that these have already changed. Refer to the “Now Listening” section of the bio for a more current idea of yaafnev/dj’s aural proclivities.) French electronica, proggy metal, sad-sack indy bands, track 7 on the new Death Cab, etc.

-Yaafnev/dj is unhealthily attracted to two-wheeled vehicles of all persuasions. Having said that, there are a fair number of them that he would not be caught dead sitting upon. Call it vanity or whatever. He just won’t go there.

-Yaafnev/dj is married.

-Yaafnev/dj enjoys movies quite a bit, as well as television. He is convinced that one of the most artful and poignant pieces produced in either medium in recent memory is the “John Smith” episode of the This American Life 2008 season on Showtime. It is, he believes, a working example of how to make a thing of pure, important, and simple beauty. Yes, it really is that good.
